MIAM: what is it ?

An International House dedicated to puppetry arts in Canada!

Located in the heart of Saint-Viateur Island, MIAM will be part of the Outremont district. Dedicated to creation, training and cultural mediation, it will become a unique center in the country for the accessibility of these arts to the entire community of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and internationally.

Supported by CASTELIERS, a puppet theater broadcaster, and the Quebec Association of Puppeteers (AQM), in collaboration with the borough of Outremont, the MIAM will house a creation, training and dissemination laboratory, a production workshop fully equipped, a space dedicated to cultural mediation, a center of reference, resources and specialized expertise near the cultural sites of the borough (Outremont Theater, Robert-Bourassa Library, Outremont Art Gallery).

The MIAM will come into existence at the end of 2018 thanks to the support of major partners including the City of Montreal through the 375th anniversary legacy and the artists’ studios fund, Canadian Heritage, the Ministry of Culture and Communications and the Caisse Desjardins des Versants du Mont Royal.
