International festival dedicated to contemporary forms of puppetry.

From object theater to tabletop puppetry, passing through street arts, dance or digital arts, each edition of the Festival Découvertes Images et Marionnettes offers to marvel at the richness of contemporary puppetry forms and its interdisciplinarity.

This new edition will start with the event Giants and Tiny Ones. From the ‘traditional’ giants, to the extraordinary creatures of street theater or even to the works of art with anthropomorphic forms, the figures of excess will be presented in all their forms.

The festival will then continue in theatres with school and public performances, premieres, short forms, professional meetings, discovery tours, a focus on creation in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, workshops…

The festival is an initiative of the Centre de la Marionnette de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Créa-Théâtre and the Musée des arts de la Marionnette.
In co-production with the Maison de la Culture de Tournai and the Fabrique de Théâtre and with the support of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Rayonnement grant – an initiative of the Walloon government operated by St’art, the City of Tournai, the Province of Hainaut, the WBI, the WBTD, the Spanish embassy in Belgium, as well as our media partners Notélé and Vivacité.
