Charleville-Mézières (France)
le 8 July 2023
jusqu'au 24 September 2023

To mark the bicentenary of the birth of Maurice Sand (1823-1889), the Centre des monuments nationaux and the Musée de l’Ardenne, in partnership with the Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes, are joining forces in 2023 to devote an exhibition to him.
Bringing together over a hundred works from the collections of George Sand’s house in Nohant, most of which have never been seen before, this event will focus on Maurice Sand’s intense activity as a creator of puppet theatres.

Visitors to the exhibition are invited to discover the ingenuity of this exceptional puppeteer. More than a mundane pastime, this practice highlights an artistic, fantastic and sensory universe that spans forty-two years of creation.

From 8 July to 24 September 2023 at the Musée de l’Ardenne (temporary exhibition room) in Charleville-Mézières.

Tuesday to Friday, 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 6pm,
Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 1pm and 2.30pm to 6pm.

Free entry.
