Exposition of puppet from the animation “Purin Purin” in Iida (Japan)

In Iida, Japan, the exposition of puppet from the animation “Purin Purin” at the Kawamoto Kihachiro Puppet Museum is open until July 9th.

Shozo Tomonaga is a sculptor from Kochi prefecture. In 1968, he enrolled in the Australian National Puppet Theatre, where he started making puppets.
The NHK puppet show animation “The tale of Purinpurin” broadcasted from 1979 to 1982 is one of his representative work.
The story of a princess around 15-year-old, Purinpurin, traveling the world in search of her hometown with her friends.
